Government Gazetted Changes

Including:

  • Farmers Workers and Domestics are also entitled to the National Minimum Wage rate
  • Learnership Allowances,
  • Sectoral Determination 1: Contract Cleaning Sector
  • Sectoral Determination 9: Wholesale and Retail Sector
  • Current Earning Threshold as of 01 April 2025 will be 261748.45. It is an increase of 2.9% from last year’s R21812.37
  • Employees earning in excess of the threshold are excluded from payments pertaining to certain provisions of the BCEA i.e. hours of work, overtime, meal intervals, night work, pay for Sunday work, averaging hours, compressed working week, daily and weekly rest periods and public holidays. 
  • Earning means regular annual remuneration before deductions i.e. income tax, pension, medical and similar payments. 
  • Any subsistence and transport allowances received, achievement award and payments for overtime worked, will not be considered part of the annual remuneration in terms of this notice being the earning threshold
